Health coaching is a way to both prioritise and significantly improve your chance of reaching your goals, including health, personal, life and emotional goals. It provides motivation and guidance to keep you on track, support and accountability,  information and recommendations and tried-and-tested tips and techniques. Dr Jess tells all her patients that seeing her health coach is the most valuable choice they will make for their recovery.

Health coaches use motivational techniques along with their experience to work out what is preventing you from reaching your goals and how to start and maintain that journey. They can work with you to help your symptoms and address the underlying causes to promote optimal health. 

Why try health coaching?

Health coaches go through your health and lifestyle history together in detail. This gives them an opportunity to fully understand you as a whole person and to gain an insight into your lifestyle and how this may be impacting on your health and wellbeing. 

They look at where you are now, where you want to be and how to get you there. Wherever you are, small changes and new habits will make a big difference. This includes working on the food you eat, how you sleep, how you manage stress, how you exercise and relax and how you connect with the world around you. They provide a safe, confidential space for you to be heard.

Katy has seen the benefits of functional medicine first hand for herself and her family. After losing over 4 stone and radically changing her own health she wanted to take her passion for helping people achieve their goals into a career and left her successful career in sales (useful for motivating patients!) to retrain as a health coach. She trained with the industry-leading Institute for Functional Medicine approved Coaching Academy. Katy is also a trained EFT therapist (an excellent complement to health coaching) and is a member of the UK Health Coaches Association.

Whilst many of us know how to be healthy (or have a rough idea!) there is a gap between what we know we need to do to be healthy and the intrinsic motivation we need to get there. Training to be a health coach involves learning how to bridge that gap. Getting clients to make and sustain the changes in their lifestyle. 

They have multiple tools and positive psychological techniques to help you stay motivated and on track with your health plan.
